SDID (South Dakota Interior Designers) is an organization made up of individuals who work in the design field and are interested in upgrading the interior design profession in order to better serve the community.
South Dakota State University is the state's largest, most comprehensive higher-education institution. As South Dakota's Morrill Act land-grant university, SDSU had a fall 2013 enrollment of 12,554 students from all 50 states and 70 countries. Students can choose from 74 majors, 42 specializations, 67 minors, 30 master's degree programs, 13 Ph.D. programs and two professional doctorates. The university also offers courses at various off-campus sites as well as undergraduate and graduate programs online through the Office of Continuing and Extended Education.
The Sioux Falls State Theatre Company is a non-profit company that is restoring the State Theatre to its original 1926 splendor. When completed, the State will provide nightly entertainment for Downtown including new-release blockbusters, independent film and performance art in a state-of-the-art facility. Over $2.5 million has already been raised and invested in the State and the facility is expected to open in the next 12-18 months. This will be an incredible addition to Downtown and an important recruitment and retention tool for local development officials.
